License Activation - Home Assistant

Overview

To activate your license, you'll need your license key (from your purchase email) and the machine ID from your TOMMY dashboard.

License Binding

Once activated, the license is bound to this Home Assistant instance and can't be transferred to another instance. Contact info@tommysense.com for special cases.

Activation Steps

Find Your Machine ID

The machine ID is automatically available in the TOMMY add-on dashboard:

Open Home Assistant → Settings → Add-ons → TOMMY
Click Open web UI
Copy the Machine ID shown in the dashboard

Activate Your License

Go to the activation portal:

Select Home Assistant Add-on
Enter your license key and machine ID
Accept the terms and activate

Activation takes a few minutes. Don't refresh the page.

Configure the Add-on

After activation, you'll get a machine certificate. Add it to the add-on configuration:

Go to Settings → Add-ons → TOMMY → Configuration
Add your license key and machine certificate:

license_key: "your-license-key-here"
machine_certificate: "your-machine-certificate-here"

Save and restart the add-on

Troubleshooting

Activation errors:

"Machine count exceeded" - License is already bound to another machine
"License data not returned" - Check your license key or contact info@tommysense.com
Transient errors - Wait a few minutes and try again

Add-on not recognizing license:

Verify both license_key and machine_certificate are set correctly
Check for typos or extra spaces
Restart the add-on and check logs
